2005 Ampeg V4BH (Made in USA) All Tube Bass Amplifier – BRAND NEW Tubes!

Up for sale, a, incredible, rare to find US made SLM era Ampeg V4BH Bass amp. Manufactured in 2005 in the USA by SLM electronics. All Original with a Complete whole BRAND NEW set of JJ Tubes.

This is one of the last model versions after Ampeg stopped most of their production in the USA. transitioning to Loud Technologies and moving all production to Asia, , therefore this model was discontinued. This is exactly the same amp that the previous mid ’90s models with the red and the blue graphics, labeled as V-4B Classic Series (These would say also V4BH on the sticker on the back).

Think of an SVT Classic but smaller and lighter (it weights a HALF of an SVT!). It sounds and looks beautiful,  It combines the legacy tone from the older 70’s V4B (Not the newer Chinese reissue) but with the flexibility and reliability of the Ampeg SLM era amps. These V4BH came either with 5881 o 6L6GC tubes, and this one particularly came with 6L6GC (JJ’s recently installed. as well as the Preamp ones).

Reasons why it beats an SVT: First, you can crank it at lower volumes (in realistic situations such as recordings and small venues), with still 100Watts of pure tube sounding. Second, it works with 4 and 8 ohms cabinets (this is a huge plus, meaning you can use a single 1×15″/2×10″ or 4×10″ at 8 Ohms). You can still hook it up to an 8×10″ or SVT-410HLF at 4 ohms like on the SVT (you can’t do 8 Ohms on the SVT). Third, it’s QUIET. Unlike the SVT, there’s no fan on the V4BH so definitely quiet for recording situations. Fourth and last, It weights HALF of an SVT, therefore much easier to carry around (no need an extra person).

The amp is Super Clean really, it’s in excellent condition with very minimal signs of wear considering its age, although the amp is in great shape and the black tolex and the front grille are in excellent condition.

As you can imagine, Local pickup in LA is much preferred. Although it can be shipped it out to Continental US double boxed, using pro packing materials and fully insured.
